Galileo - Edenderry

I was told to go to this beautiful Italian and I was met by a young man that told me I was not allowed to get eat in the restaurant by myself and takeaway was my only option. I asked was the restaurant full to which I was even an answer that was not polite. I worked a long week and wanted to treat myself before my whole staff team went to this restaurant end of September but after this treatment we will be taken are business elsewhere

We were regular enough diners in this restaurant but after this evening probably never ever again. My husband ordered steak medium-rare and when it came out he cut it and there wasn’t any pink at all so he sent it back without tasting. A new steak arrives and he takes a couple of bites and says something is definitely off and gets me to try it. The steak was completely gone rancid. I had to spit it straight back out. The waitress was apologetic and took it off the bill. But seriously that could make a person very very sick. And taking the steak price off the bill really doesn’t cover it. On a previous occasion (after which I said I wouldn’t go back) I ordered their pizzas for delivery and when I opened the box they were completely smushed to the sides. I called them up to request my €50 be refunded and the manager argues “yes our driver told me he dropped them outside but that is not our responsibility what happens outside the restaurant”. We only returned as our kids wanted to go back. Never ever again.

This is the best restaurant in town. Food made to perfection, cocktails are must try kind of thing. If you are around this area, drop by Galileo 's, you will enjoy it. One word of advice, book your table in advance, lately restaurant is getting very busy. Just show you how good this place is. If you like Italian food, this place is a must! They just recieved Italian restaurant of the year 2023 award.

Lovely staff, good food, as the waitress approached us after a while explaining that they were very busy and fully booked and we had to give up our table. She was very apologetic and of course it was not her fault as she was probably told to do so. We were there for an hour and a half which included waiting for our starters and main course to arrive. Extremely disappointed had we known there was a time limit on tables which there wasn't, I would not be writing this review. We didn't make a fuss and my sister -in -law even left her drink behind The sad thing about our night was we lost someone very dear to us and it was our first night out without them.
