Bidra med feedbackThe food wasn't hot we were in as they opened it was expensive in comparison to elsewhere. Had the dearest breakfast got it wrong and no toast. Hadn't been here for a while but has gone rapidly downhill.
Absolutely disgusting bacon and sausage bap inedible if I hadn’t already left would have took it back. Inedible. If anyone is interested it’s on the hard shoulder of m6 about 250 yards from slip road. Hope the local wildlife survives
We’ve been stopping here for years and have always been hugely impressed, particularly by the shop, which is outstanding. However, the food offer seems to be going downhill. I had fish and chips; the fish was dreadfully overcooked, with dark brown batter, and the portion of peas was microscopic. There were no forks, apart from wooden takeaway ones. Whoever is in charge of the restaurant really needs to pay attention to the many critical reviews.
Following the TV programme about Tebay, we were very keen to try it on our way to Penrith. We called in for breakfast and what a disappointment!! Watery scrambled eggs on half burnt toast, fried egg had obviously been cooked some time ago, warm sausages, dried up bacon. By the time we had queued for our drinks the breakfast was even colder. The only good thing about Tebay are the views. We spent over £27, what a waste of money!!
We love these M6 services and usually stop mostly on the way north, which we always enjoy. We’ve previously been less impressed with the southbound services. Today at the southbound services and with a seven hour drive ahead of us, we queued for food and drinks and stood at the sandwich bar for ages waiting for a member of staff to notice that we needed serving (it’s not a help yourself sandwich bar). Customers who had trays of hot food got stuck behind us until we told them to go in front of us. Then they had to wait while their drinks order was prepared at the till. And all the time their hot food got colder and colder!! Eventually a member of staff attended to us, but only after we called out “Hey, is anybody serving here?” Service was all rather slap dash and the staff seemed totally disinterested. My wife ordered a toasty sandwich which was stuck in an oven-like “toaster” but ended up only toasted on one side and lukewarm warm. All in all a very disappointing experience. The eating experience was at odds with the shop which was vibrant and enthusiastic. Such a shame to be let down by Tebay, an ‘institution’!
