The Orangery - Eastleigh

My family gave us an afternoon tea as a gift because they know we enjoy them. When we arrived at our table, we noticed it was quite cold where we were seated, but the seating arrangement was good. We started with a glass of prosecco and our waitress served us our food on a stand. Unfortunately, both of our goat cheese balls were frozen and thawing out. The sponge dessert was not particularly impressive. We also had to wait for our tea, which we eventually had to ask for. My partner complained and the Italian waiter brought us fresh goat cheese balls and fruit tea. There was a shortage of cutlery and we had to send our cups back because they were dirty. Unfortunately, compared to other places we have been to for afternoon tea, this experience fell short of our expectations. It is unlikely that we would visit again, which is a shame. The lady at the checkout asked for our honest opinion, and my partner provided it. Her reaction suggested that our experience was not an isolated incident. Such a shame.

We ended up having toasted sandwiches because our preferred meals were out of stock. The sandwiches were bland and overpriced, served with a lackluster salad. The chips we ordered were lukewarm and tasted like they were reheated. There was no mayonnaise available and the coffee was bitter. Considering the high prices, it was disappointing that we didn't get our own cutlery or individual condiments. Overall, we won't be returning to this restaurant.

I was denied the option to purchase a small meal and a coffee because I am an adult. The café had plenty of seating available and there were no lines. The small meal I wanted was on the menu, but I was not permitted to order it without also purchasing a larger meal.

Very different and very nice place to be love visiting this garden centre the designs and the products are really good standard So impressed we have been over three times now

It was bitterly cold in there. Only one lady who didn’t keep her coat on. Everyone ate with coats scarves etc. Food is lovely but they need to have some form of heating in the restaurant. I shan’t go back till the summer.
