The cafe was closed when we were in Hornsea yesterday and the premises on the market. That's a shame as there are not that many traditional tea shops in town.
This was a lovely little café decorated to make you feel you are sitting on the banks of the Seine in Paris. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quick service. Delightful atmosphere. Great menu choices but disappointed about basic the salad was. There is only one toilet for the number of seats pro rata. Bonus: a complimentary chocolate after paying the bill. Nice touch.
Took my 12 yr old twin granddaughters to the cafe as a treat on our last day of visiting family. What a treat, so pleased we saved the best till last! This cafe is such a joy from the moment you open the door. Staff are so pleasant, friendly, and very welcoming. The atmosphere is calming. Menu is spot on, plenty of choice but not overwhelming. Like the fact it offers GF choices, which I sadly still find not enough food places do. Portions are plentiful, but the proof this little gem supersedes all others is in the pudding (so to speak), wow wow wow, amazing, so so hummy, melt in the mouth goodness. And to top it all, upon settling the bill we were offered a free chocolate of choice each. Worth every penny Cafe Chocolat, we will be back later in the year. Please don’t change a thing, as it would be a shame to spoil perfection! Xx Ann Brooke and Elise, Hertfordshire. p.s Love the teapot, you should sell them!
The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. I ordered the breaded fish with scampi and calamari, which was cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. For dessert, I had crêpes with dark chocolate and raspberry sorbet, which was a delicious option that wasn't on the menu. The waitresses were friendly and attentive, and they also offer a 2-course set menu for £10, which is a great deal.
