Bidra med feedbackWe usually get our Chinese from neighboring villages, which unfortunately were closed this evening and so we thought we would give Peking Chef a try. What a mistake. We ordered online and was shocked at the high prices, but went ahead in the hope this would indicate that it is quality food, and I don 't mind paying a more if the food is good. We ordered 2 chow meins, king prawn balls in batter and rice and chips. The chow meins I can only describe as over cooked, stodgy and bland. The chicken one hadn 't had the chicken cooked through you could tell it had already cooked chicken pieces chucked into the mix and it completely lacked any flavour at all. As for the prawn balls they were stodgy thick batter, that was completely uncooked around the prawn. The chips (which cost over £3.00 a portion!!! were dried up and tasted old, like they had already been cooked. When we looked at the leaflet we also discovered that we had paid far above the usual prices due to ordering online costing us around 7/8 pounds more than on the menu and this was not stated on the website. Terrible food which ended up in the bin. Next time I will definitely be going elsewhere.
I hate chinese food so was reluctant to say the least. However what a surprise! The food we ordered was amazing. We ordered a starter and mains and even though my partner couldnt find the take away, they called us and he eventually found the place. The food was hot and ready for us. The service was excellent. We had to pay in cash though. They didn't have a card machine Everythng tasted brilliant and we shared out all the dishes. The prawn toasts were nice and thick and not greasy. The sauces were flavoursome and the vegaetables presented with the duck were finely chopped. The shredded duck was best of all with the paper thin pancakes an hoisin sauceThe Seaweed was perfect. We also had the chinese fortune cookies to finish off with... All in all it was the best chinese to whet my appetite for it again. Thank you.
Ordered four mains, rice and a couple of side dishes. Asked to collect in half an hour. When we arrived (a little early) the order was just being put together. All the dishes were very clean (no dirty oil used) tasty and fresh. Had; ribs, duck, sweet and sour king prawns, house special chow Main, Szechuan king prawns, a vegetarian dish which they modified for us, rice and prawn crackers (free). All excellent. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again. The best Chinese takeaway in Horncastle
Trying to be objective poor in all areas, little meat/prawns in meals, pretty tasteless and too many £s. Will try Kings Treasure instead next time
I'd been recommended to this takeaway by several people so gave it a go on a Friday evening. I phoned up and places order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes! Brilliant. Portions were good especially the rice. Will definitely use again. Readers need to be aware new management took over I think October 2017 so any reviews prior to that aren't useful.
