Bidra med feedbackIt has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a small menu but the food is good and at a reasonable price. A nice place to stop for a sandwich and a cuppa after a visit to Jane Austen’s house.
Visited on arrival in Chawton ahead of “doing” Jane Austen stuff. Good sized tasty coffee in a quirky space (tea cups hanging from the ceiling). My only issue would be very slow service.
I visited Cassandra 's Cup today on my own, ordering a Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini and a coffee (total spend was £11.15), and taking my coffee to my table with me. By the time my panini arrived 20 minutes later, I had finished my coffee. The cafe wasn 't busy 3 other tables were accupied with 2, 3 and another 2 people, and my order was not placed last, but still took 20 minutes to arrive and was 'warm ' rather than 'hot '. As I was already short of time by then, I didn 't stop to talk to a member of Staff about my expereince. I 'm returning to Chawton in two days but, other than the pub, which I believe is linked to Cassandra 's Cup, I don 't believe there is any other cafe/tea room in Chawton to give Cassandra 's Cup any 'competition '.
Staff were lovely and accommodating, very sociable and helped us to our tables. Excellent price and great sense of community embedded. Highly recommend!!
Visited this teashop on Sunday. The people serving were very welcoming and were happy to show me that they had a gluten free cake and a variety of lactose free milk for my coffee. I have given 4 stars as slice of cake could have been a bit bigger. Will visit again.
