The Hot Chicken Project - East Geelong

When I stumbled across this seemingly fried chicken and wine restaurant, I thought how very Geelong yet was eager to try it.

Real hot and crispy chickenIts impressive to find chicken with such a thin and crispy coating and still dripping with juices.

Very low quality chicken. Grey and rubbery with pink blotches all over it. The cheese on the chicken burger is cheap processed slices of orange plastic.

Apologise for giving a bad rating but there are a few things we didn’t like of the place. This was also recommended to us so I think the expectation was higher.

Lunch time, outdoor and indoor seating available surcharge for public holiday).Dark meat main, two pieces plus a couple of pickles and a side dish of choice. The chicken was very juicy and super crispy. The turnip greens had chicken pieces in it. Chicken poppers, on the specials board, juicy and nicely coated bites with a lightly spicy sauce.Potato salad, served cold. Was an ok side dish.Overall nice meal. This southern chicken style was very similar to Belle's Hot Chicken.
