10 Castle Street - East Dorset

Unfortunately, we experienced daily power outages during our stay, resulting in no heating, water, or electricity. The downstairs bathroom, where my parents were staying, had no running water for the duration of our visit. This forced them to use blankets and the reception toilets for washing. A plumber was called but did not come during our stay. As hosts of luxury properties ourselves, we understand that issues can arise, but a property of this size and age should have a generator as a backup, especially in winter. The property manager did waive some fees, but we felt our stay was greatly compromised due to the owners' neglect. When we reached out to them, they did not respond. We are giving one star not for the house or staff, but for the absent and neglectful owners and poor value for money. This property deserves proper care, and it seems the owners are not invested in it or the guests' experiences. If considering hosting an event here, make sure a generator is installed to avoid similar issues.

The country mansion was absolutely lovely and perfect for a small to medium sized wedding. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

I can't shout about this place enough. Fantastic staff and setting, attending weddings here has been a joy. Excellent place, fabulous food and beautiful well kept house and rooms, couldn't be better!!

Helpful, friendly and competent staff. Beautiful location. Ample parking. Great grounds and services. A wonderful period house. Suitable for any type of getaway.
