Highhouse Cafe - East Ayrshire

I recently visited this restaurant and was shocked by how terrible the food was. The sausage slices tasted like the lowest quality frozen meat from a discount grocery store. The chicken curry was inedible, it seemed like another low-quality frozen dish. The prices were too high for the poor quality of the food.

After leaving a positive review for this small cafe in the past, I was surprised to find that it has undergone some major changes when I returned. There is a new owner, the decor has been updated (although the seats are not as comfortable as before), and the menu has become very limited. The cafe now has a more minimalistic and basic feel, and it seems to cater more to customers from nearby work units rather than casual shoppers looking for a nice lunch spot. The food was decent, but I was disappointed to see how much the cafe had changed.

I have visited this restaurant several times while shopping. It is conveniently located near Tesco with easy parking. Although it is slightly hidden among industrial units, once you find it, you will be delighted by their delicious home-cooked cafe food. The salt and pepper chicken is particularly outstanding. The prices are very reasonable. Overall, a fantastic discovery.

Nice place after being changed from a fish and chip shop. my order was for abacon roll produced very quickly but was cold the bacon was crispy which i like but must have been lying. The apple turnover was very nice.
