Bidra med feedbackWe arrived straight from the beach in Ea (but with a change of clothes in the boot) they couldn't be more accommodating in setting up a table for us. And what great food! The maitre d' who looked after us claimed no English was being modest and talked at length about what was available freshly arrived from the sea we overlooked from the restaurant. She had translated the fish names into English the only one that looked a bit strange was called barnacles but a quick look on the net we agreed they were specifically goose barnacles. Great delicacy in the region same properties as oysters we were told. Unprompted she brought us a few to try too few I think to check out all the alleged attributes of oysters. Terrine de foie de canard followed by a dish of pimientos with the main dish of a turbot for three. Just a great experience. Good puds too. Many thanks
If you 're just driving through town, you won 't see the hotel/restaurant as they 're behind some other buildings. We were looking for something small to eat and were directed here by a woman in town. While sitting at the bar, we grabbed a few pastries...then a few more...then something to drink...then a sandwich. We enjoyed it so much, our something small turned into a meal. The woman behind the counter was gracious to help explain what they had available to eat while our family had trouble deciding what they wanted. She also was fun to chat with. We returned a few days later for lunch and ate a family style meal from the menu. We had lentil soup with chorizo, green beans with carrots and potatoes, meat balls, and french fries. For dessert, they offered a cake filled with cream, ice cream, or flan. The rest of the family had the cake but I had the flan. Really loved the flan! And the price for the meal was very affordable.
Helpful staff in charming small hotel and restaurant. The bar was popular with a variety of pinchos and snacks. The restaurant had wonderful views and the outside terrace too. Parking was easy. Very convenient for the national park and its bird life.
All the food was wonderful including the locally caught fresh fish which is the speciality here. Our 7 year old said his steak was the most un chewy steak in the world. The waitress had a lovely calm manner, spoke good English and kindly translated the menu of the day for us. There's a beautiful view of the sea. Our fussy four year old enjoyed the squid rings that came as part of the mixed frittura. The home made cheese ice cream is to die for like frozen cheese cake. This was our only formal meal in the Basque country we ate pintxos the rest of the time but if this is typical we're coming back.
Un excelente lugar. Acogedor, con una ubicación muy buena. El personal es muy atento. Nos quedamos el fin de semana y cenamos allí. La cocina es estupenda, con productos de alta calidad y una preparación excelente.
