Zweli's - Durham

Amazing eating and great service! that was our first time here and we were not disappointed. we ordered fried plantains, bark meat samosa, homemade limonade, dovi huhn and the crispy chicken sandwich. all were delicious! also the service was great. a great experience!

Delicious food and wonderful staff! the waiting staff was helpful and answered all those who had my friend and I. the braided ochsen tail was good, but only if they have a high spicy tolerance! the waitress recommended the sadza with the ochsen tail and that was excellent together. the dovi chicken was less sharp and very good. all three dishes are gluten-free and delicious.

Absolutely delicious! We had the oxtail, sausage, rice, and chakalaka and they were all so good. Felt like we were served a home cooked meal! Highly recommend.

Traveling back to Charlotte, NC from Richmond, VA, I decided to get on TikTok to see what’s good to eat in Durham. After coming across Zweli’s, we immediately wanted to try it, especially since neither of us have tried Zimbabwean food before. From the exceptional service, GREAT food, atmosphere such a friendly family staff, we were extremely pleased! We both got the oxtails, jollof rice, chakalaka. Ask for Yolanda when you go, you won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I lived in South Africa, and have been looking for a nice African food place in the Triangle. Zweli’s is a fantastic choice, with some Zimbabwean, South African, and Nigerian and other African cuisine. They make African food accessible to all (delicious and easy to understand menu). Great atmosphere, great service, fair prices. Definitely recommend!
