Holi And Bhang Indian Restaurant Cocktail Bar, Durham

I would highly recommend the food in this restaurant. I couldn't blame. None of your generic Indian restaurant base sauces here... everyone had their own unique taste and texture and it was all perfectly cooked. There is a very good variety including all classics as well as some very nice special dishes. The service was friendly and professional and the restaurant had a cozy feeling for it. We didn't feel rushed at all. A small criticism from some of our group was that the design of the Kingfisher beer didn't really taste and that the music could have been more in line with the style of the restaurant... but unlike that it was great. We will definitely eat there again.

The food was fantastic, the balance of flavors is great. Spicier as I am also used, I usually go for much milder curry choices, but each dish had something to cool your palate and the spices was never overpowered as a result. The Tahli option was great as it gave me a wide base of styles, tastes and textures to try and I was not disappointed! I have only ever found two Indian restaurants that I would revisit and often do miles away from each other, but if I ever were in this area the only places I would order an Indian food from and on Durham, I cannot see how it can be better than that! A lady who took orders and organized the deliveries as I went during a quiet weekday in January, but she was polite, friendly and helpful, she advised me every dish what was in it, and kept my water up for me. Always on hand, but never overlaid, she is clearly an expert in her area.

It is a small dining area, but the food and service was excellent. Chilli rate on menu was a bit misleading for me. 2 chili was more than 3 and 1 more than 2. But that could only be my taste.

A good selection of dishes that you usually do not find on the Indian menus. Soft shell crab and duck breast were excellent. Go for something else, it will probably be rewarded.

Food was excellent. Room is nicely presented. Staff helpful. Mostly though, the chef is terrific! I've eaten at a lot of Indian-style restaurants and this is up there with the best. I had some tasty lamb chops for starters and sea bass with a lovely thick, spicy, sauce for mains. All recommend.
