Bull City Olive Oil - Durham

Buyer Beware! If doing store pick up, please be sure to read the store pick up policy. Unfortunately, I did not and after reading the store was transitioning to online I purchased 6 bottles. I was not able to pick up my olive oil till a week after due to work and not realizing the store is only open Tuesday thru Friday. Due to this my items were restocked at a 15% fee for a tune of $30 which is a 750 size bottle. I only found this out after going to the store to pick my items up and was casually told it has been put back. When I asked if my money had been refunded I was told I should receive it within 7-10 business days minus 15% restock fee. I was told a phone call was made to me. However, I have no voicemail. I was asked did I get the email sent to me. NO...I did not. Which all of these should have been evident as I was in the store to pick up my order. No remedy offered! While I try to support local small businesses this is what makes me hesitate to do so. I post this to clearly say always read before you buy. If you decide to buy proceed with caution. Sometimes trying to help others (small business) cost you. Previous interactions were good and I always went into the store to purchase but because of that interaction I let my guard down and am now paying a 15% restock fee and no olive oil to show for it.

This little shop is amazing. I will never buy olive oil at the grocery store ever again! It really makes all the difference. Regular olive oil is so disappointing after this, you really won’t be able to go back! We love the rosemary olive oil on some crusty bread for a snack. The Milanese gremolata olive oil is so perfect for just about everything. I also really love the balsamic vinegars, especially for making unique cocktails. A splash of the jalapeño balsamic is great for making any cocktail spicy. I also use the maple balsamic to drizzle on Brussels sprouts before they go in the oven. The shop owner is very inspiring with her recipes as well. Definitely check this one out!

I've been a loyal customer of this shop for 3 years. Great service and excellent products keep me coming back. I have learned (and tasted) how quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars make a difference in everything I prepare with them. Julie, the proprietor, loves to share tips, recipes, and is always finding new and delicious gourmet products to bring to the store.

I really enjoy this little gem of Durham. They have a great selection of European olive oil as well as a great variety of balsamic vinegar. These make great Christmas/birthday gifts! I love trying a new flavor every time, but the pomegranate white balsamic vinegar is to die for! I recommend mixing it with some olive oil as a simple but delicious salad dressing. Bonus: You can clean the glass bottle and bring it to get a nice discount for your new bottle, no bottles wasted u0026 yay sustainability! That is not all. Soup mixes, specialty pasta, candy, local honey/jam... It is one of my favorite local places and my first go-to if I need a quick gift. I love that they are always nice and helpful, great customer service. Don’t forget to try their local honey, you won’t regret!!

This is by far our favorite shop in Durham! We love the variety of olive oils available as well as the great selection of local products (makes for great gifts for our family and friends back home). The owner, Julie, is wonderful!
