Great portions and very good service the food is always fresh and tasty I always get carry out but the dining room looks great
We had been waiting throughout the pandemic to get back to Kawa. It's a 40 minute drive but was always well worth it. Sadly, that wasn't the case a couple of weeks ago. The food was good but not spectacular, like in the past. Service was slow but not a big deal. We were just happy to be back. We were given menus when we sat down at the sushi bar. We normally spend well over $100.00 each time we visit. We were given our bill and the prices listed on the menu didn't match at all to what we were seeing on our bill. We asked the young woman who had waited on us and she had another slightly older women come to talk with us. We were told that the menus we were given were old menus. And that the new menu hadn't been printed yet. However we did see another larger menu on the counter. My boyfriend, after being told by the woman who came over to assist, was that they hadn't gotten time or had not received their new menus. We asked why weren't we told upon our arrival that those were old prices. The gentleman, making the sushi, started yelling at us. He was pointing his knife at us and yelling. There was a table of two women sitting in the window of the restaurant. One of the women held up the menu they were given and it was also an old one. They were both shaking their heads in disbelief, I hearing this man yell at us. Unfortunately, that will be our last visit to Kawa.
My wife and I went in for a Valentine Dinner. We ordered the Sashimi Otter (25 pieces of raw fish) and several other items including a warm sake. The waitress brought out a wooden boat containing the Sashimi, which included raw fish and about 10 pieces of imitation crab, which I’m allergic. I addressed the imitation crab issue and asked why it’s part of the Sashimi, which the waitress and the Sushi Chef argued with me that it was part of the menu. Long story short, they argued with me and would not replace it for anything else until I asked for the check. The waitress took away the imitation crab and brought me some other specie of sashimi, and at the same time spilled Sake on my wife’s lap. We ended our dinner and paid for our food and left. This was the most horrible experience I’ve had .
Worst service I have ever received. Took over an hour to get some Lohman. Wife got her sushi and eat it before my food even came out. It was not till I made a stink that my food came out 10 min later. only 6 cpls in restaurant. Not even an apology. Do not go here.
