Oak and Carriage Neighbourhood Pub

Food is always good. Pub food, nothing fancy but well put together and tasty. Service has been really good lately. You can generally catch big sports events here, and the new non smoking patio is lovely for lunch or an early dinner. There is also a smoking patio if you are looking for one. No minors - so far as we could tell. Liquor store next door. No pretense, just an honest average neighborhood pub done well. Oh, and awesome IPA on tap :)

Its the neighbourhood pub for my roomates I used to live with in North Saanich BC.Always good fun/service is great/and reasonably priced.Staff always remember what I drink even if I have not been there in months/the sign of a good staff....not easy to find now adays

Had the fish and chips and terrible is the only way to explain it! Customer service not much better. Server did a food check and we told her it was bad! Her answer "Oh yeah it looks burnt" Then walked away! We saw her tell the manager and he looked at us, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Will not eat there again.

All the servers are new and nervous and its not a relaxing friendly place to hang out. It lacks fun warmth - character and personality. We had one $6 pint of draft beer and left.

We booked this pub over 2 weeks ago and they knew there was a crowd of us. We understand that a group of 24 may take a little time to cook for and serve, but not two and a half hours until the last one gets served! It was embarrassing for the person who booked this pub. We had given plenty of wArning there would be a large group. On arrival they tried to limit our meal choices to five. This would have been fine if they had told us previously but they didn't. To cut a long story short it took 21/2 hours to serve everyone! They didn't even serve couples together! The food was so-so. The bar manager was not helpful at all. They did give a couple of the group free coffees but no reductions in price for waiting. We would not advise anyone to go there.
