Hatchet Inn - Dunboyne

This restaurant has just improved and improved over the past few years to be probably the best restaurant in Meath. Average, overpriced food. The seafood chowder is better in Lidl. It was a nice meal, but nothing special.

We had heard the food was lovely and decided to go for Sunday lunch was greeted by the rudest person who I suspect might have been a manager. She brought us to a back room in the pub which had a few tables in it and no one else. I asked the lady could we have a table in the main section and the way she answered me was appalling and rude she took our drinks order and left us in the room for fourty five minutes and ignored us. This is a place to avoid, the lady was a senior member of staff not a young person.

The head waitress was so unbelievably rude. My sister had booked Sunday dinner for a large party and when we arrived, the waitress told her that she only found out about the large booking that morning and she said it should never have been taken. She then went on to tell other customers who came in, that there was no tables because of us and was pointing and gesturing to our table. I was shocked to be treated so disrespectfully in a restaurant where the food is below average.

Lovely place for food. Great serive, good decent drinks menu not over priced. The chicken burger wings really hit the spot.
