Bidra med feedbackI highly recommend this cozy cafe located on the main street of Castle Douglas. They serve delicious cheese toasties. However, I must mention that I had a negative experience with a young staff member who made an inappropriate comment about my weight.
Greedy landlord puts the rent up during COVID , thus completely crippling the business to the point of it having to shutdown. How sad . What was once a little gem of cafe , now fallen victim to the pandemic , through no fault of their own.
On a rainy and gloomy Sunday, we visited a cozy and inviting café. I ordered a ham, cheese, and pineapple toastie, while my partner had homemade turnip soup followed by a toastie. The soup was delicious and the toastie I had was perfectly cooked, accompanied by a fresh side salad and crisps. It was one of the best toasties I've had. I also tried a bite of my partner's millionaire cake, which was equally delightful. We were happy we decided to stop by for a late lunch, as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We always kick off the weekend at this restaurant when we're in the area, which is quite frequent since we have a caravan nearby. The breakfast is fantastic and the lunch menu looks promising, although we've never had lunch here because the hearty breakfast keeps us full until dinnertime.
We went for lunch today and had panini's, one with Tuna a d one with cheese and mushrooms, both accompanied by side salad and one of the nicest coleslaws I have had for a long time. We will most definately be back
