Bidra med feedbackIt’s not going to win any prizes for haute cuisine but ‘The Dougie’ consistently serves up fabulously tasty standard fair. Been here many times and never been disappointed. The mixed filled flatbreads are heavenly but don’t expect to go home without a doggy bag. This is seriously good value for the money. And the bar has the local brewery -Borderlands Brewery- on tap which is a real bonus. All round thumbs up.
The Duggie has it all. There is a traditional public bar with the local town's own beer, and a couple of quiet corners for a family group to sit and natter before going downstairs to the restaurant. Some lovely, unusual decor and a menu perfect for families. This is not just bar food. We chose mainly posh burgers and loaded flatbreads but the menu is full of tempting stuff. Huge portions, all well cooked and served. And not at all expensive. On sunny days there is also a quiet secret beer garden
We chose a mix of menu dishes and daily specials. All beautifully prepared. Served on hot plates by perfectly attentive staff. All had appetisers and mains and those who could manage had desserts. Thank you very much for our wonderful meal.
We received a warm and friendly welcome (including our Westie) and the food was delicious. Would recommend.
Reasonable selection of starters and main courses Lansagne and House burger both very good. Seemed to have good patronage of the locals ,always a good sign.
