Kampai - Duluth

I called ahead on a Saturday night for a reservation for party of 4. The gentlemen on the phone took my name and number and told me the reservation was good to go. I also went online and reserved our seat there, just in case. When we arrived, our name was on the list and the hostess said we were next. We wait 30 minutes and never got called. Eventually we asked when we were going to be seated and the hostess said she called our name twice and we were non responsive, even though we were literally sitting right next to her. She said if you don 't believe me, ask the customer over there. She never sat us and we decided to leave the restaurant. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

Used to be my go too hibachi but recently they started lying about saying you have to get your food from the kitchen and they can 't make it hibachi for you but yet previous times we came and ordered on the hibachi side without them restricting it. I literally have a video from the previous time and the Asian lady said no we never done it but I have a video for proof

Visited for a friend's birthday. We were on a time crunch so they were pretty accommodating and moved us from the hibachi bar to table seating . I ordered the chirashi don. The serving size was pretty small, but the assortment of fish was great and the fish tasted pretty fresh. I just wished they served more food for the price. Service was great and the wait for the food didn't take too long. Food was just a little overpriced.

We heard there was a lunch special here so we thought it would be cool to bring my daughter and her friends to celebrate their senior 2020 year! But no such deal on Saturdays.. which was ok, just ended up being a pretty pricey lunch.. now with that out of the way.. the food was ok, it wasn't bad and it wasn't ..that was the best Japanese hibachi I've ever had either... just saying.. the service was also decent. I would go again, just nothing to 5 star about and nothing to seriously complain about either.. way to keep it under the radar Kampai!

Hibachi is pretty much the same everywhere you go now. Kampai Sushi Hibachi is no different. You know what to expect here when it comes to the experience and show. Located conveniently next to the Regal Cinemas on Medlock so it's a great place for dinner and a movie. The menu ranges from hibachi, rice/noodle dishes, and sushi. I can only speak on behalf of the hibachi and its pretty good but like I said its nothing special and you could probably get it the same at another hibachi place.
