ROCCA IM GEHRY'S - Düsseldorf

We have visited this restaurant for business lunch with eight people. we have received the ordered food 2.5 hours after the door of the restaurant! when we asked the server about our food several times, they mentioned that they first have to serve the...big group and that today they have only four cooks in the kitchen. after 2.5 hours the server brought my entrecote steak with, which I ordered medium rare, completely burned on the outside, pitch black. I have returned the steak, a few minutes later they came with the same steak that I cut the corner before I returned it) that seemed as if they had just stripped the worst upper layer) of course I pointed it back and server started putting it up and started to argue that I ordered medium hard steak again, not medium hard that was not very rare independent of the height of preparation, in the payment of the bill the server has not apologized yet offered a discount. when I asked what they could offer us for this bad experience, he said he can't do anything because he's just the server. When we insisted, he said he will ask the manager and came with eight dishes of something alcohol and began to push it to our guests: here, take it, take it to sum it up, this restaurant tries to do so that it is in different leagues as it really is. the design of the place is very beautiful, but such things can simply not happen in the restaurant. overpriced for what it offers, I suggest they save their money and the evening and go to the restaurant where they appreciate their business.

Very good food if they are a meat lover! we waited for about 10-15 minutes to eat, good wine and drinks.

The service was very bad. not that they were rude or something, but it took forever before they hired our order and even longer before we got our food. even if we wanted another drink, we had to go to someone because they didn't. to our table. eating was very good.

My husband and I were looking for one "fancy" restaurant for our last night in town. We quickly realized that this was an upscale, trendy restaurant. We were seated outside very quickly, even though the place was packed. Our server was excellent, giving us wine suggestions and laughing with us. She had a consistent smile even though she was very obviously swamped. The food was perfectly prepared and the wait was short. The only drawback was out of Rocca's control: they allow smoking outside, and it seems MANY people enjoy a good smoke after their meal.

The terrace is very nice. View on the water and sunset. Mosquitoes may bug you, but otherwise perfect. The building in which the restaurant is located was designed by star architect Frank Gehry. Nice & cool setting. Food good as well. I had an excellent octopus salad as appetizer and a barbecued to perfection steak with white asparagus. Several very good open and bottled wines. Not cheap, but good value. Service a little slow. I can recommend for business or a date.
