Bidra med feedbackWithout a shadow of a doubt Et Kabuffke is one of the true institutions in Dusseldorf, an ancient bar serving the delicious Killeppitsch so beloved by the locals. I love the look of this ,set over two floors, vintage decor and furnishings including a cool...looking serving bar, you can see the age of the bar by the faded paintings adorning the walls and ceilings, it's a very cool bar ,very popular, if you dont get a seat quickly your standing, its that popular with both locals and tourists alike, a cool bar to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday night, this bar was absolutely packed with a great atmosphere, we ordered the famous Killepitsch, this absolutely fantastic and delicious herbal liqueur, a mix of fruits, spices and berries is blood red in colour and weighs in at 4.2% and I just love it. This bar has a special vibe all of it's own, it's a bar I've been to on so many occasions, great memories and so it proved on our latest visit. My twin brother Stephen and I stayed here for two delicious Killepitsch each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Et Kabbuffke is easy to locate on Flingerstraße,most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.
You come here for the Killepitsch, a local herb schnaps. There is always a very positive and happy thing going on here. If you are not into 'Kräuterlikör ' there are other choices like wine and more schnaps. There is no beer and I have never...ever seen anybody in there having a mineral or a coke. Go but take it carefully. The Killepitsch, however, is perfect after a heavy brewhouse dinner.
Düsseldorf's local liquor, hits hard, warms you up on those cold nights! Made with over 80 herbs and spices, if you're in Düsseldorf, you must try it! The staff were extremely friendly and there was a real buzz to the place.
My partner had been to Dusseldorf on business from the UK just a few weeks before we visited here together. He came here to have a few drinks whilst talking business spoke non stop of this little hidden gem so when we just by...chance came across it again (he was too drunk to remember where it was exactly) he was over the moon insisted I try a Killepitsch, oh my word, what a fantastic drink!!!!! I had more than a few whilst talking to the locals who were explaining what it's all about, what a great little place. Such friendly people too, I cant wait to visit again. We were pretty disappointed that we couldn't take any bottles home with us as we were travelling with hand luggage only...... so what a bonus when you can buy it duty free at the airport so don't despair!!!!
