The Blue Submarine - Dudley

I ordered online for home delivery after not using this restaurant for a long time. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. The chips were mostly rock hard, the kebab was tasteless and cold, and the cod was small and had hard batter. The only decent thing was the mushy peas, which were hot. Overall, it was a waste of money and we won't be ordering from them again. The food was unappealing and we regretted our decision. It's a shame as we used to think highly of this restaurant.

I placed an order for my family through the restaurant's online website. It took more than an hour for the food to be delivered, and when it arrived, it was greasy and not very hot. The battered sausage was packed next to fish, which my partner couldn't eat due to his fish allergy. I have been ordering from this restaurant for years, but if this is the new standard, I won't be ordering again.

As a fish and chips enthusiast in the Black Country, my go-to order is always the mini fish and chip special. I first visited this restaurant around four years ago and had an amazing experience. However, on my most recent visit, I was disappointed to find that the battered chips were lacking in crispiness and the mini fish portion was surprisingly small. The mushy peas were the only highlight. In addition, the prices were higher than those of nearby establishments, making it not a great value for money option.

Have been using Blue Submarine for easily 15 years. Food is always great but unfortunately, since the refurb the portion sizes are nowhere near the sizes they used to be. The new plastic trays are half the size of the previous bags!!! We get the feeling they are consumed with the ‘Uber Eats’ orders and the traditional take away side is suffering. Just returned with food for family of 5 and every one of us is disappointed. Mix kebab and chips was very poor. Hardly any meat. I’ve given 4 stars as historically they’ve been great. I hope the management read this and listen to a loyal customer. We’ll give them another try but unless they get back to normal, we’ll be going elsewhere.

Chips tasted of the cardboard box they were in, and the cardboard box smelled horrid (chemical smell). Very off putting. Much better to be wrapped in paper. Very expensive and quite greasy food.
