Bidra med feedbackDear Boxcar Brewing, Worst dining experience me and my family have ever had. When asking about when our food would be ready, after 2 hours, we were told they “ran out of buns” and our food would be out in “5 minutes “ but it wasn’t. We asked as a courtesy for a beer to be taken off of our tab for the inconvenience. When further questioning about our food we were given excuses, then were threatened with being kicked out by the bartender. We paid our full bill to that point and left with us being treating as common street trash. I will never forgive your establishment for how we were treated and warned in coming patrons to leave so not to be treated as we were. This will be posted on all social media. We go out of our way to support small businesses but I refuse to be treated how we were by your staff. It was unacceptable. If I could give negative stars I would. Do better!
I don't know why it says closed on here when it's very much open. It's a good place to eat. It's decently priced, and it's different. I had 3 ribs beans and potatoe salad. My wife had brisket applesauce and sweet potato fries. My daughter had chicken nuggets, applesauce, and a cookie. The ribs were dry, but everything else was good. 40$ was the total. My daughter really enjoyed eating in a train car and looking in the other one. The waiter was great as well. I'd recommend it. Especially if you have younger kids.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyParking: Lots of spots to park
We love this place. We havent been back in a long while due to my husbands health. He wants to visit again as do I. We had such an awesome waitress, I forget her first name, but I believe her last name she said was Pulmanti ? or something? Shes probably long gone but she was absolutely wonderful!!
I saw this place mentioned in a PA travel guide we picked up at a Visitor's Center. Since we were driving from Cleveland back to NJ stopped here for lunch. It is a collection of old trains scattered about and a few are together used as eateries. BBQ, Boxcar Brew Works (for a cocktail they have some food), there is a Pizza car and I was able to get a Gluten Free pizza ! Pretty good. They have a mini golf area which some people were playing then there is a dinosaur outdoor area primarily for kids. The place is rather run down in certain areas but all in all it was definitely a distraction to take a break from our 7.5 hour drive home. This was pobably about 2.5 3 hours from Cleveland (off Route 80 east)
Our party of 4 adults and 4 children aged 1-7 arrived around 5:45 PM on a Weds night. We found seating at a big high top table at one end of the boxcar overlooking a porch with additional outdoor seating) which in turn overlooks the dinosaur-themed, 18 hole mini golf course. Surroundings were clean, interesting and attractive. We ordered four pizzas 12 )and a pan of garlic knots. Despite only one staff member on duty to cover the bar, kitchen, and cash register, our pizza was served in a reasonable amount of time and was tasty, enjoyed by all. Prices were competitive. Enjoying good pizza and a beer in a historical boxcar is a unique and memorable experience!
