Bidra med feedbackWarm and friendly welcome, authentic Irish pub. Sentimental as it was the first pub we visited on our first trip to Dublin so had to return!
I used come here when I worked in town and the food was very good. I went with my daughter and was very disappointed. They said it would take 25mins however it was a lot longer but we are patient. However when the food arrived it was terrible. The chips were the worst I’ve ever tasted. The chicken burger was overcooked. The fish was frozen. Very disappointing
Great spot, friendly staff amazing Irish food and guinness, highly recommended I'll be back next year
A friendly welcome , not unusual for Ireland and an appetizing menu. Order taken promptly, and then began the wait. And then continued the wait and it went on. We asked one of the bar staff what was going on; he went off to check and never came back. Still the wait went on. We asked another member of staff who assured us it was on its way, just another order; it wasn’t. After another wait, we asked the manager who explained that they’d been taken by surprise by the sudden rush. Oh, and that they were sorry. By this time it was almost two and we’d been waiting over an hour before, magically, my microwave hot Irish stew arrived along with my friend’s salad minus the side order of chicken. No offer of coffee on the house (or anything by way of apology).. We will never go back. If you do, take a book or a blanket.
Visited while on a short leisure/business trip to Dublin as we had been there before and enjoyed the food. Waited a long time for our food approx 45 mins., which was average when it arrived. I assumed the sandwich came with fries but it didn’t so asked for some to be brought to the table. They arrived just as we finished and we told the pup that we had finished and we didn’t need them. He got into an argument with my husband about the length of time we had waited. We decided to leave as the other customers were looking at him nervously. I asked for the bill and the waitress who brought it to remove the fries as they had arrived too late. She said she would get the manager. The pup arrived back and proceeded to roar in an extremely aggressive manner at my husband. His attitude was extremely threatening and I begged him to stop as the other customers were looking on in a mix of disbelief and fear. I quickly got the cash from my wallet and gave it to him minus the price of the fries of course. However he continued bellowing at my husband and my husband says to him “but we are the customer” to which he incredibly replied “ I DON’T GIVE A F**K ABOUT CUSTOMERS. !!! We left as I am a medical professional and my husband an ex member of an Garda Siochana and a business man himself and we recognise someone under the influence pretty quickly. Shame really as they have done a great refurbishment and we were glad to see it open again after covid and enjoyed going there while in Dublin. Needless to say we won’t be back but I doubt anyone cares because he obviously is not answerable to anyone when he verbally abuses customers and knows he can and will get away with it. We found comfort reading the past reviews knowing we weren’t the only customers who left never to return.
