Bidra med feedbackHave tried to order takeaway twice through an app and both times have had the order cancelled by the restaurant for no reason. When I phoned the restaurant they say they didn't receive an order and just acted like they didn't care, no apology, not even offering to take the order over the phone again. I hope business is always so good that they can just reject custom like this.
Should have taken heed when we first visited and were turned away by a supercilious young Indian guy who obviously thought he was running the Ritz. But were curry deprived and went back 2 days later. We were welcomed by a charming young lady, and this time they had a table. The illusions of grandeur continued though the first couple of page are for wine this is an Indian! and no mention of beer. Nevertheless I did manage to extract a Cobra from them. My companions stayed with onion bhaji, very doughty. My fish (don 't ask what type) Punjabi was tasteless and the fish dry. My companions had a lamb korma, which was OK, and a lamb biryani which was surprisingly good. However my lamb madras was not. I 'd seen that they had phal on the menu, so knew that the vindaloo would likely be just more hot chilli and not properly balanced. The waiter confirmed that this was an English vindaloo, and that as I had been a frequent traveller to India would not enjoy it. So I went for madras. The lamb came in a thick paste, rather than a sauce, and was poorly spiced there was no trace of ginger there. We left disappointed.
We found this lovely restaurant by chance and were very happy with our meals especially as the service was excellent prices reasonable. We both ordered a Jalfrezi curry and were pleased with the spices and level of heat. Our only desire would have been to see real chicken in the meal rather than cubes. We’ll be back.
Very friendly fun restaurant with excellent food. We had a brilliant evening enjoying well prepared and very flavorful currys. Go there hungry!
As we come from the Midlands we are spoilt for choice with good Indian restaurants and this paled in comparison. There is a lot of food, the meal for two offer isn 't as good an offer as it looks, however they are happy to do doggie bags for any remaining food you wish to take away. We found the food bland, no real taste, a shame as my daughter took us here specially. They cater for all tastes e.g. vegans, veggies etc. They do any early special rate which with the amount of food you get I suppose is a good deal. Won 't return.
