Brap! Oh my days, what a taste sensation! I don’t usually write reviews and put myself out there, but I promised Ruby I would and she deserves it! I visited Dublin for a long weekend with friends and happened to come across Ruby Tuesdays. As a second generation Jamaican from Moss Side Manchester, I am very critical of Caribbean cuisine done badly. However, I can safely and happily say that having sampled countless variations many of which give Caribbean culture and cuisine a bad name, Ruby clearly knows what she is doing the meal was going in! We had the jerk wings, oxtail, curry goat, plantain, rice and peas, and jerk burger. No word of a lie, her food is as close to home cooking I have tasted, which no mean feat and high high praise! I would recommend Ruby Tuesdays in a heart beat! If you’re in Dublin get yourself there! We dined on a Sunday evening and the live band playing covers such as Kanye West, Rihanna and Estelle was a huge bonus. Big up Ruby still, she is reppin the ting hard! Love, respect and blessings!
I tried the jerk burger and I have to say, most amazing burger in Dublin. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
I was thinking to cook some Caribbean food out of curiosity but when I attempted to google a recipe I was offered a link about this new place in Dublin so I decided to check it out. I had the goat curry for someone who loves a curry this was fantastic. A type familiar but totally different at the same time. The jollof rice with it was a great intriguing accompaniment. I also had the jerk wings which I have to say were the best wings I’ve ever had. The plantain was a wholesome side. I thoroughly enjoyed these dishes had to go back for more. I’m very happy to have this new food in our fair city wish Ruby all the best.
Based in Berlin D2, we ordered the Jerk Chicken and Sweet Potato Fries, got an absolutely massive dish with chicken, rice, plantains, sauce and vinaigrette. Gorgeous home Caribbean dishes. If you're into wholesome comfort food that makes you feel at home, I would highly recommend checking it out!
