The Q Train - DRYSDALE

An excellent culinary experience on board a restored train with a high quality devastation menu. high points were the pork bell, duck and bark. the washabi gele with the goat cheese dish was a manifestation, we need the recipe! excellent variety of foods, tastes and textures. great to see that a cook for a fine dish go away when they go away with a more run of the mill menu. dessert was the first time better, this time a little bland. the second visit here and the service sizes have unfortunately decreased. we were told that there was no moscato anymore, just to get us into the...more

Why should they punish themselves? if they take their loves to a good restaurant, they get much better value for money then what they get for such a high price event. drink prices are excessively high and they get much less wine in a glass than the international beverage quantities. about 80 ml for $16, about 2 glass with a spiritual size. would not recommend it definitiw. I would rate that in average at about 2.5 stars. the small cabin, the old and decrepit train by 2 stars. nothing rustic or nostalgic about the whole experience. the Qtrain company calculates additional price increases, even if you have a prefabricated credit card. the voucher, a gift from our son, was $A358 for a first-class ticket for 2, in the round a cabin of about 1.5m x 2m with a table and seating opportunity. then $a20 was added because we booked 12 months later. 2 glasses orange juice and 80ml red wine another $a26. petrol gradually from melbourne at $a20. So it was the experience and worth money? from my own not. parking: off-road, free parking on Scottish Square at the drysdale station.

Fantastic day: from the check-in and welcome drink, to the private dining experience, there was nothing to fault. The food was wonderful and the drink pairings were very thoughtfully designed. The refurbished Queensland Rail sleeper carriages were great and the wait-staff were highly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu inclusions. A perfect Sunday lunch session.

My Q Train experience was exceptional, I was greeted with a smile and a glass of Prosseco then escorted to my First Class Private compartment. The 5 course menu that followed, prepared with locally sourced ingredients was absolutely delicious. Each course was paired with a choice of the finest local wine, beer or Mocktail to complement the ingredients. A big thank you to MarieClaire, Shaz and all the fantastic staff who made my night a very special one. I would highly recommend the QTrain experience to everyone.

We hired the Bar car for our intimate wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect. The staff were lovely- friendly and attentive, yet gave us space to enjoy our day with our guests. And they helped us get the most beautiful photos! Management were very accommodating regarding meal requirements and arranging space for the wedding cake/dropping the cake off prior to the big day- great communication. The food was exquisite- it was a tough call, but I think the arancini balls were the overall winner with our party! Was great to be able to get out for a wander at different stations. And that view over Swan Bay... Thank you for a day to remember from my new husband and I and all of our guests.
