Sushi City - Downers Grove

The reviews about this place are deceiving. My 1st inclination should have been the fact that it is located in a completely abandoned strip mall. I have to believe that most of the other reviewers have never had good (or even fresh) sushi. Everything we ordered seemed to be precooked and reheated, leading to extremely dry and almost inedible meat. Liked the all you can eat option but that menu didn't include any of the food we really like. Very disappointing. The robot waiter was cute and the staff were plenty friendly but none of that can even remotely compensate for how dried out the food was.

We had the best server, Katie! She did so much for our big group of 20, treated everyone so nicely, and it was not easy taking care of so many people at once but she did it with a smile the whole time! She made our experience wonderful, hope to get her as our waitress again!Food: 5/5

This place is amazing! Delicious food and great staff! One particular server that helped my table, I believe her name was Jasmine, was so sweet and organized. She was always ready to help us when we needed help, and she even recommended the best options. She made our experience here ten times better! Really recommend coming here!Food: 5/5

The food was good and tasty. But the restaurant was a bit dark inside, and floor was sticky.But the staff was very nice and friendly.We ordered a second plate of sushi and it took almost 30 min to arrive.But overall the experience was good.
