Bidra med feedbackI stayed in Room 1 and found it to be lovely, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The meal we had at the pub was excellent and generously portioned. The cleaning and changeover staff were delightful.
I was extremely disappointed with the way the baked potato was cooked at this restaurant. It was not fully cooked and half raw, with a slightly crunchy texture. I am not a fan of al dente potatoes, and this was even worse - it appeared to have been partially cooked, frozen, and then reheated.
Fabulous tasty food and so much on each plate even more than we could eat. The menu is simple, and not much choice for vegetarians like me, but what you get is excellent and good value. The service was prompt and the staff very friendly. The pub is definitely dog friendly inside (bar areas) and out in the lovely garden. Would highly recommend.
This place is a hidden gem! Our first visit was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is located by the river in a peaceful setting with beautifully maintained gardens. The pub/restaurant is spacious with a wide selection of beers and friendly staff. The highlight, however, is the food! We tried the mixed ploughman's and lambs liver and bacon. The ploughman's was huge, loaded with all kinds of delicious ingredients, served on a full-sized dinner plate. The quality of the pate, cheese, and ham was excellent. The lambs liver was exceptional, served with a choice of mashed, chips, roast, or new potatoes, and a selection of vegetables. The portion sizes were generous and everything was freshly prepared and cooked. With a glass of wine and a coke, we spent less than £30. If you appreciate high-quality food served in generous portions at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. We will definitely be returning to further explore their menu!
