Bidra med feedback2nd time I've been on a course here and again had a good time. Relaxed atmosphere and came home with some lovely food. Was nervous about making pasta for the first time, but Pieter is a great teacher. Will definitely be rebooking sometime in the future.
Megan had a great day today learning how to cook cauliflower pasta puttanesca, focaccia and tiramisu. Pieter was a great host and a great teacher. Megan is looking forward to practising her new recipes and enjoying the food all over again. Thanks again for a fun and enjoyable experience.
The chequers restaurant is located in a former pub near the golf course royal cinque. the pub was transformed into a pretty nice restaurant and cooking school. we first discovered it while we were from sandwich deal to foot. our original intention was to plan our walk so we could eat in deal. but with at least one 1 hour or so left to go deal we started the signs for chequers – 1 mile away, then 1/2 mile away. So we thought we'd check it out. wow, what a tasty bite in the middle of nowhere was to be found as if you discovered an oasis in the desert. we've been immersed a few times for lunch and were always a joy. many of local food influenced by chef pieter van zyls South African background. at our last visit we ordered 3 small dishes to share. beautiful tempura prawns with chef pieters sweet chili sauce (I order them whenever I visit because they are so good) Spanish omelette and really delicious cape malay pickled fish along
A pizza evening at the chequers cooking school proved to be a perfect way to celebrate the birthday of a friend. most of us didn't know each other, and that made, cook and eat gave us a lot to talk and laugh! and the Chequers team looked at us beautifully. it is the ideal way to bring friends and family together, and also a fun idea for a team or customer event.
Went for a sushi making course, really good instructions, think we'll be eating solid for the next 24 hours.
