Bidra med feedbackI ordered this as a tasty bite for a quarantine dinner. lobster bisque was so burned that I couldn't eat it. it tasted like coal soup. the jam included frozen vegetables, and the chocolate mousse tasted like it was bad? overall, so disappointing! I'm not a picky eater and I'll eat something even if it's not great, but the dessert and the suppe were actually unusable. fortunate were the kartoffels and the ducks in order when eating the frozen vegetables and sauce, which tasted as it came from a dose. I will never give them my business again.
Living in Pointe Claire, I like to support the restaurants in the village. However, we were quite disappointed with our recent dining experience. Upon entering, there was a strong cigarette smell and the decor was very outdated. We ordered the lobster bisque, which was overcooked and had a strange color. The salad was decent, but when our main dishes arrived (spicy tomato mussels and cream sauce mussels), we were shocked to see that the sauce was only on the mussels and the plate was filled with water. The mussels had no flavor and my partner noted that the tomato sauce was cold. Overall, it was a very disappointing meal and not worth the money. The only highlight was the $75 bottle of wine we chose, which at least didn't disappoint because the restaurant didn't have to prepare it!
We were looking for a moderately favorable local cuisine in pointe claire and after the walk from the crowded, chaotic and badly organized pasta restaurant directly on the road we discovered comme chez soi and the type of comfort eating and comfortable atmosphere we were looking for. we choose the 3-course dinner for 2 and really enjoyed the squash soup, green salad starter, poutine canard jam and fish and chips (very slightly broken) net, chocolate mousse and cream caramel desserts with a jug of stella artois and hot tee. and the service was lovely! I highly recommend comme chez soi for a very filling, moderately inexpensive meal
We were a group of 7 who arrived early for dinner on a Saturday. We were the first ones there and the staff was ready for us. The menu was written on a blackboard in French and English, as well as provided on individual menus with many different options to choose from. The cuisine had a strong European influence with a focus on Belgian dishes. My wife really enjoyed the fish and chips, which had a light coating that allowed the flavor of the fish to shine through. I opted for the $35 daily menu which included appetizer, main course of tournedos with vegetables and gravy, dessert, coffee, and a large Belgian beer. This was our third visit and definitely won't be our last, although we live 8 hours away. The service was friendly and the waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu. The restaurant, located in the old village of Pointe Claire at sea level, does not have an elevator but the climb is worth it even if it means crawling up.
This was my second visit here. My experience was great. Me and my husband came here for a night out without the kids. It is a cozy friendly environment and lovely old music. The food was very very good. The bread was so fresh, the...soup was tasy and delicious, the mussels I didn't like them but my husband did, the bison hamburger steak was delicious and finally the choclate soufflé was delightful. Honnestly, I do not understand the bad reviews that i've read but I guess to each their cup of tea! Also, for 2 people including a bottle of wine, 60$ for both of us was extremely reasonable. We will definately be back!
