Fat Olive - Dorchester

We had a group of 6 and we all commented that it was the best meal we had in a restaurant in a long time. Food was served very hot and it was delicious! We will definitely go back there!

When someone who has grown up with authentic Italian dishes in the last 26 years, I am always hesitant to visit Italian restaurants because it is? But my God, this place has broken my mind. The staff was immediately welcoming and warm, hanging our coats, bringing us water and menus immediately. We made a reservation (for2), as recommended on the website, and the small but cozy family restaurant quickly filled on a Tuesday night. Had a glass of the house red wine that was elegant like hell, but there was also a generous selection of Italian classics to choose. The menu was overwhelming only because every dish I've read has made a bit more dripping out of the corner of my mouth unnotified. We started with the Caesar Salad and the Garlic Parmesan Loaf (I cast a tear when it came) and the Fatuccini Alfredo and New York Strip w/ Veggies for our net. Wow. I don't even remember chewing. The steak was tender and cooked for perfection; the veggies were fresh and elegantly seasoned, while the pasta was clearly handmade fetters and melted into the mouth like butter. The Pancetta above tasted like Christmas morning. The foliage and salad were basic dishes, but so much taste I barely managed to keep a conversation while I shoved all this incredible food in my mouth in a few minutes. Overall, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to this family who created the true essence of what it means to welcome an Italian food feeling, warm and especially happy to your car afterwards, with a box of Pistachio ricotta cannolis, already plan your next trip back.

10/10! Why drive to London with an amazing gem like The Fat Olive so close to home. Very welcoming staff that had not only great knowledge of the menu, but also sharp service whenever needed. The food is clearly prepared with no shortcuts and is all in-house made. Great variety to the menu and a nice selection of wine to pair with any dish you choose. After 2 visits, this has risen to the top of my Favourite ?London and area? restaurant list! Well done Fat Olive!
