The Anne Arms - Doncaster

I stopped by on a particularly cold day and was delighted to see the fire roaring. I quickly ordered food and drinks, and didn't have to wait long. It can be hit or miss with staff at times, but thankfully they were efficient and not pushy with drink orders. The food was delicious as expected, with a good selection of drinks as well. The menu seemed a bit overwhelming with choices. I noticed a sign outside advertising a bonfire and Christmas event, which was a bit concerning. It's the little things that can make or break a restaurant. Overall, I will likely visit again in the future.

My friend treated me to a meal after I was discharged from the hospital last week and was supposed to be relaxing. We ordered a substantial amount of food. I opted for lasagna with chips, salad, and additional onion rings. My friend chose a burger with chips, salad, extra coleslaw, and garlic mushrooms. When we started our meal, my friend found a hair in the first onion ring they picked up. We informed the staff and they offered to prepare new onion rings, but unfortunately, there was another dark, long hair in my salad. They replaced the salad and chips, but by then I had already finished my lasagna. I was put off by the experience and didn't eat much of my meal. The staff only apologized and offered to replace the contaminated items, but I was too disgusted to eat anymore. They didn't even offer a complimentary drink to make up for the mistake. I won't be returning to this restaurant as they have disappointed me greatly. It's a shame because it used to be a nice place in the past.

Recently reopened Anne Arms is a charming family friendly country pub. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating. We went on a Wednesday evening during a short notice visit from London. Service was polite and efficient and the food was delicious. Will look forward to a...Sunday lunch visit in the future.

We came to the eat out, to help out' offer one evening. There restaurant was very busy but we had a table booked for that had been booked in for quite some time. There was a table of sat next to us a...a lady was very drunk, screaming and shouting then consistently swearing. It was very disturbing for other diners and she was not removed. They kept serving her drinks too. We waited ages to take a drinks order and in the end, went to the bar to order our food. They were out of so many dishes and it was only a Monday pm with lots more diners to come in. In the end, we ordered with multiple sides of onion rings. When the meals came out our onion rings were missing and plates that specified they had them did not. We complained and they just apologised. A table that was seated after we had ordered out food (we saw them walk in so were not sat at the bar or outside) got their food before us with onion rings!

Came during eat out to help out. We booked in advance. The staff were fantastic. Working tirelessly to make us feel safe and create an atmosphere. The food (as it alway is) was beautiful. Well done to the chef and the waitresses at this family...friendly little gem.
