Basha Restaurant - Dollard-Des Ormeaux

The Food and the Service at this location is outstanding. Very good Chicken Shish Taouk plate (generous portions), I like also a Chicken Shish Taouk pita mixed with the choice of 3 salads is very good. I love their Fattoush mixed salad. Everything is made daily with very fresh and high quality ingredients. The owner and the staff are very friendly and give exemplary service. Always a joy to visit this Basha restaurant.

I love eating lunch in this unassuming lunch spot just off Des Sources. I try and get in about 1130 just as the staff are finishing their lunch and get first choice of the amazing fresh salads. The Sante plate allows a choice of three salads and a choice of either spit roasted chicken or beef. You are always offered a choice between hummus and the garlic sauce - try them both as once you have had the garlic sauce you will always chose it.The Avocado Salad and the Mango salad are very nice and a great alternative to add to the plate.The seating area isnt fancy but is adequate given the strip mall nature of this establishment.The staff are very friendly and clearly have a relationship between them. They always make you feel at home.

I've had a bad experience at this location before (horrible service) so I hesitated to go back.. my mom convinced me to give it another try and so I gave in and I was seriously disappointed. I'm guessing that the boy who served me was new because he kept messing up my order, which I didn't mind until the manager started making rude comments towards me and the boy serving us. Overall the food isn't bad but the service is the reason why I will not be returning. I'd rather spend my money at a restaurant that will treat me with respect.

I would like to start by saying that I really enjoy the food at this Basha location. Read on to see why I rated this location as poor and will not tolerate being treated like garbage. The manager,'Faddy, proudly provided his name. I don't think it was any thanks to him alone that the food tasted good. Out of all the visits we have had to this location over the years, all have been pleasant and tasty with all the staff with the exception of this individual, Faddy, who seemingly could't care less about his customers and has made this and other visits extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. He stated quite confidently that he could get a job anywhere else due to his experience. Since this was not our first horrible experience with him, this only aggravated us even more. We would often avoid going to this place in the past if we knew he was working there. I already spoke to the owner some time ago about this manager and his attitude I I can not presume on the owner but if this so called manager continues to work there, there are plenty of other places to relax and enjoy a good meal. We don't need this type of aggravation. What was the issue? My wife is gluten intolerant and we asked for a chicken plate with an avocado salad and asked for our rice on the side due to its having gluten in the noodles. We have no issue with paying a bit more. This is where the manager expressed his extremely cheap attitude. He marched out of the kitchen and stated that this was not the normal order and it was going cost us more. In addition, he could not measure out the rice on a side plate due to the portion size and had to charge use more. What a pile of rubbish. Extra for this and extra for that. I eat at dozens of places every month and I can't imagine any places giving me this type of treatment and aggravation. The restaurant food is good but this manager has repeatedly ruined what could be a perfectly good experience with a cheap and arrogant attitude and thereby, I will give it a terrible overall rating.

My husband and I went for a chicken plate which we have ordered frequently on past visits The server gave us something we never requested which was calked a Basha Sante because we asked to change the regular salad to an avocado salad. Since I am gluten intolerant, we asked if he could put the rice on a separate plate because the rice contains noodles. The nasty manager who's name is Faddy came from the kitchen and he told us that we could not order this plate or it would cost us extra. It was very supposed to be a simple chicken plate with avocado salad instead of the regular one and requested that he put the rice on another plate. We paid extra for the rice, extra for the potatoes and extra for the garlic. In the end, the simple chicken plate we requested, turned into a circus with the cashier who was apologizing for the poor behavior of her so called manager. This is not the first time we dealt with this impolite manager and my husband told him he should treat his customers better. He said he didn't care about how we felt about his attitude and that he has many customers. He would also be able to find work everywhere since he has experience but I told him that evidently he has no education. We requested the phone number of the owner of course he refused to give it to us and told the cashier she was not to give it to us. I really like the food but frankly, I won't tolerate this treatment from such an arrogant manager and thereby will not return.
