Bidra med feedbackWe used this bar for a pre dinner drink most evenings during our holiday. There was a good choice of beers, wines and cocktails. Service was provided by two, sometimes three, people and was cheerful and prompt. Drinks were always served with small and varied snacks. It was never busy and the bar is on the promenade with good views of the beach and sea. All this would normally have merited a higher grade than I have awarded, but only because of our experience on our final visit on our last evening in Diano. Unfortunately this was not a good one. On our last night the bar was busier than normal, but not overly so. Only one member of staff (who had been there every other night) appeared to be serving. Preferring to sit in the shady area we thought we were going to be out of luck but, as we approached, a group is cyclists vacated a suitable table so we quickly sat down, moving all of their used plates and glasses to the end of the table to assist the waiter. The waiter took orders from, then served, others who had arrived just ahead of us, then did the same thing with two or three groups who had arrived after us. He was not observant and were not able to attract his attention. We felt invisible. How can an efficient waiter not see a large group depart, a large amount of used glasses and plates needing to be collected and new customers wanting to order? We remained invisible to him despite our best efforts so when we were ignored again in preference of more new arrivals, having waited a considerable time, we left and took our custom elswhere. This was disappointing and I would not chooses to use this bar again.
We called in for morning coffee and then stayed for a cocktail as well. Lovely caffe latte and very nice cocktails at 5 euro each. Lots of nibbles provided free of charge which we all enjoyed. Very nice setting.
We stopped at this sea-front bar on a hot day in early September 2013. Not many places in Italy sell German Weizen Bier but we were very pleased to find Piccolo Bar Antoine where we relaxed watching the world go by and chatting with the owner (who speaks fluent German). We were there long enough to catch the sun and to plan a return visit for cocktails later the same evening. A truly pleasant experience.
This was a real good find. We were staying in Diano Marina on a Leger coach holiday and had 2 free days so we explored the town. Unfortunately the weather was somewhat inclement so we stopped here for a coffee. The guy you served us who we think was the manager/owner was just superb, spoke perfect English as my Italian is rubbish. Very clean and very reasonably priced, 2 euro for a latte macchiato. He even offered to go and get me a particular beer that I fancied but I did decline the generous offer. We did go back a couple of times, thank you so very much.
