Bidra med feedbackKeeping in mind that it was Mother's Day and it was a limited MD brunch menu....waitress must have been overwhelmed because we ordered appetizers and she had the busser remove our plates. We challenged it and then he brought them back out. We were told that we could not stray from the menu, however we like salad with our meal. After talking to manager, waitress said that we could get salad for the table. We assumed that meant family style and ordered for the 7 of us. Salads were served individually plated at a charge of $7 per. We ordered bruschetta that was on the menu for $10 but we were charged $12 per. I challenged it and it was removed. I wonder how many others caught this as there was a lot of bruschetta on those serving trays. They also charge a credit card fee which a lot of places do these days. I would go back but not on an event day such as MD or Easter. I was looking forward to the full menu which was advertised when I made the reservation. It was too late to cancel by the time I found out. Food was okay....but that was basically because I wasn't thrilled with the choices. Family likes the Italian food (lasagna, Chicken Marsala) Mexican food was bland (Enchiladas).
What a hidden gem. We were there earlier it was not busy. The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. We shared a watermelon salad which was unique and delicious. I had the Tris Pasta which is 3 different pastas and enjoyed it tremendously My wife had veal and as I thought it was delicious.
Celebrated my 70th birthday for dinner at El Barzon. Did not disappoint! Table was ready upon arrival, staff was very attentive...especially our server, Irene, food was delicious, and the staff surprised me with a birthday dessert and sang happy birthday! The courtyard reminds me of dining in Puerto Vallarta. Home run! ?
Have been coming here for many years but had not visited recently. Reserved table for 10 and were seated immediately. Servers were friendly and attentive, and everyone enjoyed their food immensely. Love sitting on the patio!
I 'm saddened to share a low review for what has been a favorite restaurant in my family for over a decade. Four of us came for dinner Saturday night looking to impress an out-of-town guest with our favorite restaurant in Detroit. After many delays and abrupt/curt comments from our server (who was visibly overwhelmed), I sought the FOH manager to suggest she coach the server on priorities and his tone speaking with the table. She offered no apology but informed us that 3 servers had called off. Still, the restaurant was seating walk-ins and took our reservation earlier that day. Many wines and menu items were out of stock, so by the time we had found a bottle of wine that WAS available, we were finished eating. The food, normally outstanding, was underwhelming. The veal was overcooked and heavily salted, the potatoes served in a broken cream sauce. The pasta was, as always, terrific, but the rest of the evening delivered truly underwhelming service. Two of the table 's drinks were made wrong and had to be sent back.A second member of the party spoke to the manager, who snapped back at the guest "What do you want me to do about it? "When the manager offered for this person to speak to the owner, the owner replied from the kitchen that he was "too busy. "I 'm sorry- I 've worked in the industry all my life as well and I understand that s**t happens on a Saturday night. But if you as an owner are too busy to speak to a disappointed guest, you will likely not be in business much longer.Perhaps a better choice would have been to take fewer reservations or stop taking walk-ins once clear the restaurant knew they would be short staffed. Our bill was adjusted, which was appreciated but not necessary. I only wish to share my disappointment with the management 's inability and unwillingness to address our concerns in a civil and professional manner.Hopefully this was an out-of-the-ordinary experience. The pasta and the patio are really unbeatable.
