Primrose - Destin

Such a beautiful restaurant! We were seated immediately in the outdoor part of the restaurant overlooking the pool! Our server showed up immediately and took our drink and appetizer order. The appetizers were very good! Then she took our entree order. My husband's filet mignon was very salty. The gumbo had a gravy taste, not like a usual gumbo. The sushi was amazing! Don't order the heirloom tomato salad! It was very bland tasting and the tomatoes were mushy. They took this off of our bill though! Our server got busy with a large table and it seemed like we were forgotten. We sat for 25 minutes waiting for her to bring us our bill.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I wanted to share this but I think it's important for those who do look to go! I will start by saying the food was phenomenal! Crispy cauliflower is a must try and the sushi was very well crafted! Unfortunately the service didn't match the impeccable food. Our total time here was over 2.5 hours, 156 minutes. We saw our waitress total of 6x. We waited over thirty minutes for most of our parties drinks, with another training a full hour to be received. We want to give our waitress benefit of the doubt, but the restaurant was not busy, we were one of two tables outside and only half dozen or so parties, not large, where inside with what looked like their own servers. The fact there was a 20% automatic gratuity is what really throws it for me, because her incentive to be a good waitress also wasn't there. I asked for a second glass of champagne and it took 45 minutes for me to be told she “had to wait for the bottle to get cold,” If that was the case, that's perfectly acceptable but come let me know and see if I'd like to order something else. Same with other woman in our party when she asked for drink that use to be on their menu, had a photo of the drink when was last here and was promptly told “that wasn't from here!” The list goes on but just don't be in a hurry here, be good at filling the time and enjoy drinks and food when and if it gets to you!

Very nice experience. Food was a bit disappointing. The French toast was so tough it couldn't be eaten and the quiche was bland and watery. Other than that, it was very good. The bacon was amazing

We love the Henderson and Primrose. We celebrated our anniversary dinner here as we got married at the Henderson 3 years ago! We got the Lobster roll primrose roll and they were both AMAZING!

Food and service were wonderful. Server was very attentive and checked up as needed to make sure everything was to our liking. The only negative note would be that we were celebrating a birthday and had it noted on the reservation, but neither host or server said anything or acknowledged it.
