Goldfinch - Des Moines

The food was delicious. I started with a little goldfinch salad and had the salmon. My husband had the Iowa corn soup that looked amazing and then he enjoyed the chicken breast. We are very sorry to see the restaurant nearby. We have eaten there several times and always had good food.

It was hopeful that this restaurant would be a place for business meetings in the city centre. Unfortunately, this will not be the case. Service was good, proteins on our salads were warm, temperature in the restaurant was cold and unfortunately this distracted from our meeting. I'm sorry our experience wasn't better. Had great hopes.

We loved Golddinch and we're so sad it's closed. Actually, we were shocked because it was always waiting.

Our reservation was at 7:00 and two of the beef entree options were not available. We would have liked to at least had the full menu available. We order an appetizer and our salads just to get things started. Both arrived at the same time, that is never a good start to excellent service. Our server was not very attentive but adequate.

My husband and I went for a mid week dinner here and it was very quiet as they were having a slow night. The wine list was ok, could use a better selection of sparkling. That would be my only gripe. Our service was outstanding I wish I remembered her name, but she was attentive and quick. Our food was came out very quickly too and was very good. We will go back again for sure.
