Pizza Express - Derby

Me and my mum went to celebrate a promotion and my engagement. We were well and truly spoilt and well catered for. We will definitely be coming again!

Well, I would be writing here what an absolute blast my daughter her friends had today if I hadn't have been rung THE NIGHT BEFORE (Sat 22nd July 2023) 8pm, cancelling the party, after initially receiving an email to say that everything was confirmed. It was the Pizza Express the Irongate restaurant. 8pm!!!! On a Saturday night! What the hell was I supposed to do rearrange in that time??! If I'd have heard sooner in the day, then fair enough, but 8pm...an absolute joke. My daughter overheard the conversation was really upset I do hope that we receive something in return for the inconvenience?? Vouchers? Free pizza? Absolutely ridiculous

What can I say,after me making a big mistake thinking I'd booked our meal for 17.15pm..I'd only gone and booked it for 15.15pm..so 2 hours later , due to got to a concert at Derby Cathedral Peter the deputy manager soon sorted the situation out ..he got us a table straight away we ordered drinks they came straight away, Our ceaser salads followed..they were delicious Thanks again Peter you are a star ..sorry for the inconvenience we may have caused, but you dealt with it in a suburb professional Manor thank you Best wishes Cathryn and Karen

I’ve always been a fan of Pizza Express.. until last night. It was absolutely dreadful. We were a party of 6, out for my Sister in Laws birthday. Every single pizza that came out was burnt to a crisp! I though one of us would end up at the emergency dentist with a broken tooth! They didn’t taste fresh at all! The frozen pizzas I buy from Tesco are better! My husband had the garlic prawn pizza, there was two prawns on it and no garlic. I had the goats cheese pizza with not a piece of goats cheese in sight! We were passed the Dessert Menu only to be told half of the desserts weren’t available. The service wasn’t much better either! Our server was less than helpful and clearly wanted to be anywhere else other than there (but then again, who could blame her) Overpriced and terrible service. My father in law picked up the bill so not sure if we were charged Service Charge. Avoid this restaurant and if it’s Pizza Express you really want, take the short walk up to Irongate and try the Pizza Express up there instead

A good meal, nicely cooked. But a very important operational observation- there were several flashing lights that could cause an epileptic fit. Should be repaired ASAP
