The Castle - Denbighshire

I have been a regular at this Wetherspoons for years, but today's experience was the worst I have ever had. The food was served cold, the bartender was frantically trying to keep up with the demands of the customers, and even when food was sent back, it took another 25 minutes to be brought back out- and it was still only lukewarm. This place needs to be fixed quickly.

After shopping for prom dresses, we came to this restaurant. The meal was delightful, but the apple crumble pudding we ordered had too much cinnamon, making it a bit overwhelming.

Called in for a late lunch after a meeting. The bearded male barman waiter looked dirty and unkept. I asked for a phone charger and he rudely explained that they were short staff with an attitude. The restaurant was Not at all busy as it was around 1.45pm mid week. He was rude and challenged me when I gave feedback quietly about the poor Cesare salad which was bland, small and overpriced and looked at me with attitude once again leaving me uncomfortable.

Called here on a rainy Friday afternoon for a drink to escaped the rain. We ordered on the app and within a couple of minutes a polite bar staff member brought our drinks over. We stayed for several more and in that time we chatted to a lot of friendly locals. The pub was well set out and very clean and tidy throughout all areas. We enjoyed it that much we called in the next morning for breakfast. It arrived quick and it was hot. A big shout out to the bar staff who brought us the drinks while we played the ‘Wetherspoons game’ Another thank you to a couple of locals who helped us drink all our shots! Would visit here again, and probably stay here in one of the rooms.

Been here many times over the years and never had any complaints, I love the building and the view from the outside area. We ordered our burgers at the bar and within three minutes our meals were served! The burgers had obviously been cooked before and were burnt and horrible. I would rather wait and have an edible burger.
