Bidra med feedbackDO NOT STAY HERE..awful food.. awful staff.. awful rooms..awful staff...DIRTY PLACE IT NEEDS CLOSING Down
Went for Sunday carvery adults and a old. Extremely slow service. We queued for quite a while behind about other guests then when we got to the front the problem was obvious...the guy doing the meat carving was taking an age to...cut the thinnest bits of meat he could. Move onto the veg...the young girl doing the dishing out asked if I wanted roast potatoes and parsnips. Of course I did, but was astonished when she gave me only one of each as if she was doing me a favour. That's right...one roasty and one little parsnip. The boiled potatoes were watery, the carrots were overcooked and the yorkshire pudding was small, pale and very undercooked. Ok, it was only for a single course but it's poor value....so many other places in that area do it far better.
I would call Abbey Grange a pub rather than a restaurant, and having seen reviews on here I wasn't sure what to expect. Though pleasantly surprised. Firstly, dog friendly areas inside. Staff were lovely. Chatty, friendly and very happy to help. The vegetarian curry is...absolutely delicious. Home made, fresh, and lots of it. It's a huge place both indoors and out. We are in the area for a few days and will definitely pop back in for that curry!!
Came here for a bite to eat on our way back from snowdon... hungry and ready for some home cooked grub... what arrived was less than appertising...
We came across this place by accident, not being able to find somewhere in the town, so did not have the chance to be put off by others reviews. Yes, the covid restrictions are a bit OTT and I did not appreciate placing my food...and drinks order through a screened off reception before sitting down. The food more than made up for this. Prawn cocktail starter was amazing and the Sunday roast to die for. Everything hot, fresh and beautifully cooked. Would go back and eat there again.
