Bidra med feedbackSince moving down here this is probably one of the most authentic Chinese- Hunan cuisine I’ve had so far. Next time I stop in I’ll take more photos. We ordered a whole bunch of dim sum and ate it as it came, and this picture is of the half fried and roasted duck which was phenomenal- perfectly moist, and the skin was crispy.
Very pleased with this find.Having moved from HK recently, seeing a decent dim sum menu made my heart flutter ! I asked the waitress if dim sum was made in-house as these morsels are labor intensive and exacting so most places purchase frozen products to be steamed onsite.(yikes!)Decided to try the BBQ pork bun and it was satisfying. Also ordered mushu pork and the house special fried rice.Mushu was less impressive, although tasty, at $16, it was pricey.House special fried rice was scrumptious. Came with generous lashings of bbq pork, chicken, shrimp. The rice was perfectly firm and the surprise? Fresh, crunchy bean sprouts! Really added to flavor and texture. Loved it!Ask for the chili oil. Not spicy and adds a delicate fragrance to the fried rice. Will be back to assess other dim sum options!
My Chinese food place to go. Since covid we are doing takeout only but was glad that new owner have remodeled the place and it looks very pleasant. Don't know if chef changed but the quality of food have improved. This weekend we ordered and used the old menu. we got the ribs and sea food in a bird nest. It was delish, fool of taste and flavor. YOU MUST PUT IT BACK ON THE MENU. And please get rid of the pictures on the back of the new menu. You are not one of those places that only do takeout with no place to sit.
We have eaten at many of the local Chinese restaurants and Mr. Chen's Hunan Palace is the best by far. Though the service was a little slow, the quality of the food made it well worth the wait.
Do not go there for authentic Dim Sum. It was more like an appetizer menu. Wonton soup was really salty, could not even eat it. General Tso, ordered mild and it had no hint of heat at all, no flavor, bland, sauce was watery. Chicken in Garlic Sauce, it had chopped garlic in it but no flavor in the sauce at all, very bland and watery. There were more green peppers and tons of water chestnuts, and for the price I don't think there was even 3 oz. of chicken. Way to pricey for subpar food.
