Bidra med feedbackBest pizza in Florida. No need for portnoy to give a stamp of approval. Try it for yourself
On our latest monthly foodie escapade, my friend and I set our sights on something different--Detroit-style pizza, a delightful divergence from my usual NY-style preference. But as a staunch believer that pizza nurtures the soul, we found ourselves at Death by Pizza, a spot heralded as the best pizza in Palm Beach. Arrival was a breeze, and the scene outside the restaurant--a cluster of people eagerly devouring pizza before leaving the premises--was a promising sign. Stepping inside, we quickly realized the reason for the outdoor dining scene: there was no seating, inside or out. This was strictly a grab-and-go establishment, adding a unique twist to our adventure. With my heart set on the 'Redrum ' and 'Nosferatu ' pizzas, finding the latter unavailable was a minor setback. I settled on the 'Red Rum ' and, on a whim, a mysterious 'Pepper BBQ Chicken ' that the server recommended with infectious enthusiasm. My friend opted for a pesto pizza and the specialty of the week, 'Chipotle Chicken. ' While paying, I was struck by the ambiance--the all-black decor resonated deeply, fittingly macabre for a place named Death by Pizza. It felt like stepping into a deliciously dark netherworld, ready to face whatever culinary fate awaited us. With our boxes of pizza in hand and no place to sit, we drove to my favorite haunt, Scoops Ice Cream Shop, known for its outdoor seating. This 20-minute journey with anticipation building led us to an ideal spot for our feast. Upon opening the boxes, we were instantly captivated by each slice 's aromas and visual appeal. The first bite was transformative. The crunchiness of the crust, the savory layers of toppings, and the undeniable freshness of the ingredients were like a revelation. The flavor profiles of each pizza were distinct and utterly delicious, making us feel as if we had transcended to a higher plane of pizza appreciation. The 'Red Rum ' was a standout, and even the impromptu 'pepbbqchicken ' (truly don 't remember what the guy said it was called but this is what it sounded like) proved to be a hit, each slice bringing a new taste sensation. Death by pizza indeed claimed two more fans that day. The experience was so impactful that it left us discussing the merits of each slice long after the meal had ended, already plotting our next visit. Perhaps next time, we 'll aim for a scenic spot like the beach, ensuring an equally heavenly view matches the heavenly slices of Death by Pizza. Undoubtedly, Death by Pizza has earned its place in our hearts as a top contender in the South Florida pizza scene, worth every mile traveled and every slice savored.
Absolutely fabulous pizza, the bread and the salad was fabulous as well. You want a great Detroit style pizza? Make sure you get one of these. We the had the mushroom and pepperoni Easy Z. Could not have been better!
Love the place and the food. But it’s ridiculously expensive
Not a Detroit Pizza in my opinion. Definitely not a Buddy's Pizza!
