Hernandez El Sarape - Delavan

Hernandez has always been my family since we first traveled to Wisconsin. We recommend eating for adults and children. If you sit down and bring the chips and salsa, they will immediately ask if you want the mild salsa for the children. The food they make is authentic and unprepared items that you will find in other Mexican restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed our experience at Hernandez Mexican Restaurant. The service was nice. Our server and all staff were very friendly and made a nice experience with our whole family tonight, including our 3 young children. The chips were fresh and obviously homemade. It's worth the ride for the chips alone. We had margaritas on the rocks that were strong and tasty. The Chimichanga Combo was tasty and incredible filling. My husband had the combination of Guadalajara and said it was also wonderful. Our check came also with two chocolate chip cookies that were a nice top-off-off-to menu, as we were too full for dessert! We will definitely come back! As an update May 2022 they no longer serve cookies, but we ordered some fried ice cream and it was very tasty and sat on almost a sopapilla like cinnamon sugar tortilla. They also had to increase their prices throughout the board by $1.25, but we understand why with sad absolutely everything in the price rise in these days, so it is not a knock against the restaurant. For their credit they have registration and a sticker on the menu to let you know about the price difference.

Meat? Beans? Good. Margaritas? Good. The service? The experience? Since I was a kid, it's the best Mexican. I'm not controlling you. But if you don't, I'll call you stupid and make you funny, stupid.

Food was very good! We all had the chicken chimichangas. The chips and salsa are probably the best I have ever had, even bought a bag of chips to take with! Service was friendly and fast, will definitely be going back!

I had the chef's special carnitas plate, it was really good, I ordered the chicken tenders for my 7 year old it was fresh and made in house. All the food we had was really good. And the service was awesome
