El Jimador Mexican Grill - DeKalb

A surprisingly great place to get Mexican food in DeKalb, IL! The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. They had a small mariachi band in the last time we were there the other week.

Service is always spectacular. You get what you pay for and then some. If you want a very fun vibe and some terrific Mexican food, hit this place up. It's our go to when we need the food that hits the spot. The table side guac is worth it. Made in front of you, well worth it.Parking: Parking just off main street that's free.

It’s a catered wedding reception and everything was DELICIOUS!! Especially the guisado de res(? . The chicken breast were sliced thinly which I liked. The rice was AMAZING the beans were YUMMYLICOUS as well, grilled vegetables were tasty as well. Nice spread OVER ALL THE BEST!! The tortillas were heated up a bit too early which made them stick ?…. But other than that I would definitely cater from them in the future!!

What a beautiful find for DeKalb. The restaurant was modern, and decorated nicely. The food was fantastic everybody loved their meals, fajitas were delicious. The Tableside guacamole was one of the best I had.drinks were excellent,Had mariachis going from table to table they didn't overdo it it was very nice. Can't wait to go back and will be back. Don't miss this hidden gem in downtown DeKalb.

Outstanding service and food. We went on a busy Saturday (worth the short wait) and are still talking about our experience the following week. The burritos are platter sized and loaded with tender, flavorful shredded chicken. We never had an empty basket of chips thanks to how friendly and attentive all the servers are there. We're already looking forward to our next visit!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to dairy allergy and our server promptly followed up to ensure the burrito was prepared correctly.
