Cafe 2 - Deer Isle

This is by far my favorite place to eat on the entire island. I usually sit outside. The food is always unique and perfectly flavored. One of my favorite items has been their Hungarian mushroom soup. The service is hit or miss. My last visit even had a bunch of problems with my server (who was some rude girl) charging me for another table's items by mistake so you have to watch closely. But the food is so amazing I can't even take a star off for it. Just be watchful of your itemized receipt while paying and try not to let it ruin the experience. I know it's a weird thing to say. I never made that exception with another restaurant but their food is just worth it.

Not good. Fresh squeezed Orange juice was so not fresh it had turned and was almost alcoholic. The waitress came and asked what was wrong and we when told her she said I tasted it and it was fine such great customer service. The food was also horrible. The meat in the corned beef hash had gone bad too and if my elderly mother dies of food poisoning we know why. Would not come here again. The business preys on tourists who have little other options. Only I think that is cute is these chairs, otherwise the decor is cheesy and lame, just like the food.

We ate here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We loved the food. This trip, the food did not seem the same quality. But the most disappointing this was the customer service. They staff was rude which immediately turned us off. After talking to locals at another establishment, many shared similar opinions. Hopefully the owners can rectify the situation as we had been so looking forward to returning. After having a good experience in 2021. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Despite having large awnings, they will not allow outdoor seating in the rain. They allow dogs outside in good weather, otherwise suggest takeout. They seem very strict about anyone trying to get takeout and eat at their outdoor tables. Parking can be challenging out front, but there are more spaces available in the back. The parking

The food was anything but impressive. It's overpriced and flavorless. I'm no Gordon Ramsay however I would bet money that I can make anything on the menu better than they can. I had one of their pasta dishes and the sauce was just about as watery and watered down as you can imagine. not to mention that every single piece of lobster and shrimp was over cooked (truly impressive). Finally once the bill came they ed me even more!!!! they charge $5 to use a card, and charged a required 18% gratuity, then they had the audacity to ask for an additional tip as well!!!!!!! Not to mention that everyone is sat so close together that you'll surely be bumping into every table around you. Avoid this place like the plague.

This was absolutely outstandingly delicious. We got there and waited in line for a long long time. But this was so worth the wait. The bread was so flavorful and fluffy. And the main dishes (even the sides too! were also incredibly flavorful. Tbh i think they should have charged a little more for the food. But it was all around a great experience, and it was crowded for a reason. 10/10 in all aspects. Edit we went back again and it was still extremely good i am very happy : i am very full
