Bidra med feedbackGreat couscous, very friendly staff, good interiors, perfect lunch place in Deauville! My husband and I are vegetarian, so we had a great veggie stew and pomme de terre fourchette avec légumes. Good choice for anyone who might be vegetarian and are looking for a great, healthy yet heavy meal!
Tired of the usual food, we wanted to try something different during a stay in Deauville and experienced the new Berbere, which has recently moved to the Quai de la Marine. Obviously not local food, this Moroccan restaurant is nonetheless an amazing traditional place, with a cosy atmosphere, generous couches where you can sit comfortably to enjoy a couscous or tajine, kindly served by a friendly staff... all in a modern decor with a view on the port (it 's facing the Deauville Yacht Club). We were worried by some other (negative) feedbacks and therefore kept our eyes open to find the 'glitch ' likely to occur, which could have explained other commentators ' experience. But all was perfect and the food was of the highest quality (we tried the couscous royal to have a significant sample of meat). We will surely go there again and try other dishes they seem to have regular updates to their menu with local food cooked in a traditional Moroccan dish (e.g. couscous with a sort of fish today). We may try it next time...
We visited here as a family of four, after passing by a previous evening. We didn't book but were greated with smiles and seated quickly. The restaurant was very busy with a mix of couples and families. A very interesting and cosy moroccan interior. The idea seems to be that your order your meat or vegetable dish and a central bowl of couscous is served to share. I had a selection of lamb which also came with a merguez sausage, the meat was well flavoured and tender, however, I did need to share some vegetable tagine or it would have been a dry meal, harissa is available if you ask. My daughter had a vegetable tagine which was served in the pot, a large portion and she could only manage half. My husband had a chicken tagine which he enjoyed but again too much and he does have a large appetite! My son had a plate complete which came with a selection of meat, vegetables, frites, salad and egg. I thought the couscous was very generous but we could not eat even half, my son is 16 and is never full, but it was too much and we felt guilty leaving it. The staff were understanding and very friendly. I would go back but would order a better selection next time.
Banquette confortable. On y reviendra avec plaisir. Paul et Laurence.
