Bidra med feedbackWe arrived to Deadwood earlier in the morning on purpose and were sad to find out that, seemingly, all of the restaurants were closed until late in the morning. But then this place popped up on my maps and it was open, so we figured, sure, we'll give it a shot. We found ourselves in a non-assuming, mostly-underground, cozy restaurant. We were promptly seated and served. The food literally blew us away. And the price? Totally reasonable (at least compared to where we're from). The drinks similarly were delectable. The service was warm and the place was clean, albeit somewhat tight in regards to space. Would totally recommend to everyone.
We ate here shortly after they opened years ago and I ordered the Lobster Benedict...it had a tiny piece of lobster on it and the eggs were over cooked. THE EGGS WERE OVER COOKED... on one of their most expensive breakfast menu items... Well, Lately people have been raving about how great their food is so we have tried and tried to get in to give them another try but it's either closed or not taking anymore names. Decided to try it again for breakfast this morning , this time with the steak and potato benedict. Wouldn't you know ... Same thing! Overcooked eggs. If you're a Benedict fan, you know how disappointing this is! If they can't cook the most basic thing anyone in the culinary world should be able to cook... A simple egg... I don't have much confidence their food will be much better. Excellent service and good atmosphere though. ???????? But at a higher price point, I think it's safe to say one could expect a properly cooked egg.
By far the best steak in Deadwood. We make it a part of every trip down here to come to this restaurant. The steaks are aged and cooked to perfection each time. The sides are great. Even the salads included with the meal are almost a meal in themselves and very well thought out and prepared. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the hostess in our last visit, and will even give you alternative options at different restaurants should you arrive too late to get a table. Which leads to the next piece of advice, if you are not there around 4 or so you will be waiting to get a table for a while if at all. They don?t do reservations. While the entrees are a bit pricey they are worth every penny. I have never left here unsatisfied. I would have taken a better photo but the meal didn?t stand a chance once it arrived.
Our server, Jesse, was great. Very polite and attentive. The food was excellent, cooked exactly as we asked, and very tasty. Well worth the money. Loved the building and cozy downstairs dining atmosphere.
Buffalo ribeye and filet were awesome!! The table next to us got the prime rib and it was HUGE!! It looked amazing. You can select any salad, which is awesome because the Vanilla Fields salad was really good!! Get there early as they don't take reservations and there is a line to get in.
