Strandhotel - De Haan

This was our first time visiting this hotel. We were warmly welcomed and even our dog was allowed. The room was small but comfortable, with pleasant decor and a view of the sea. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, which had large windows with a view of the sea. Breakfast was delicious and served with care. The dinner was also enjoyable and offered at a reasonable price, with the option to play darts. While there was one older staffer who seemed a bit unfriendly, the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and kind. We will definitely be returning!

While the view from the restaurant is perfect, other services leave much to be desired. I ordered the chocolate crêpe, but received a burnt one that had a strange taste. The American sandwich was almost inedible, resembling a pie cut with an axe. The presentation was messy and unappetizing. Overall, the restaurant needs to improve in all areas, including their cuisine and service. I would not recommend this place, except maybe to a math teacher looking for a unique thesis topic.

Waiting 2 hours and 30 minutes for a dish, with servers showing both irritation and indifference, is not a pleasant experience. Many customers were unhappy and the food did not make up for the long wait. The white mussels I had were not cleaned properly and the pear accompaniment was disappointing. The eels in the dish were undercooked and then drowned in butter with black onions. The shrimp croquettes tasted like they were cooked in bechamel sauce. Overall, a disappointing experience, especially with the boss being too busy to even introduce himself. It felt like a waste of 85 euros. Next time, it would be better to spend time in the sun enjoying a picnic instead.

First time we visit this hotel. We've been very kindly welcomed and our dog was welcome. For a very social price, you can have a nice dinner and there's also good dairy. There was indeed one demoted older serviceman, but all the other people were very willing and kindly we're going back!
