Middlemore Farm - Daventry

Booked for 13.00, meal finally arrived one hour 10 minutes later after chasing how long it would be. Now 15.15 and our plates have not been cleared and we have not had anyone to ask if we wanted anymore drinks or like deserts. An apology would be quite nice, food was good when it did arrive what a shame

My first visit after refurbishment. The car park had plenty of cars, always a good sign, and the new decor was modern and welcoming. Inside there was a lovely buzz about the place, plenty of space and a decent menu. On ordering at the bar, I was warned there was a party of about 40 being catered for. They had no impact on my visit as my food came in good time and the bread which came with the soup was divine and worth going back for. I was able to get my work done and this is very much on my I 'll be back list of places to eat.

Visited for dinner last night with a friend. Ordered a mixed grill but meat came out cold and steak looked like it was chewed up.

The lunch menu was disappointing for vegetarians. Only one choice of main which was a salad. Not everyone wants salad for their main course. I ordered the breaded mushrooms instead which were OK but served piled up in a small bowl standing on a piece of wood! This made it almost impossible to eat as they kept falling off onto the table. WHAT IS WRONG WITH A PLATE? Please think about the person trying to eat the food instead of trying to be trendy with wooden blocks which are totally useless! The service was also very slow .

Had a great time today. Prompt and friendly service. Lovely food. Great company. Who could ask for more??
